Where did my Boxes Tab go?

You are about to lose a lot of information on your profile and the worst part is Facebook wasn’t even going to tell you! Watch my video below to learn more.
Personally I think this sucks. Facebook is moving more and more away from a site that expresses personality. What do you think of this change? Are you upset? Did you have anything useful in your boxes tab?

man WTF!??! What is wrong with Facebook lately!? It’s like they’ve just decided that everything the users have done on there is really just theirs for the taking and they’re gonna do whatever the hell they want with it! In fact I bet in their terms of service, all content created by the users probably belongs to FB anyway legally. Still this is so completely f****d up I can’t believe it. I knew FB was starting to pull some messed up stuff but even I didn’t expect this.
Can’t wait to check out your new Mytells site… hope you can launch it soon!!!

I agree with you man their was such a revolt on this that the rolled it back. I have not seen them do that before, yet the still say they will be moving forward with this. Another thing I just learned about today is everyones phone number is now public! I’ll do up a video and post on that too. Nt sure what is happening over there but I think this is a poor move. I mean if your going to make such a big change notify your users and not just the developers! A lot of people check their boxes tab every day and others have userful apps on their profile wall like countdowns to special days and such. They are just killing all the personality elements.
What’s really the matter with Facebook? Did they hire some die-hard nazis over there or what?
Are we (the users) some “social networking experiment”? There has to be an “alternative to Facebook”.
I refuse to be “killed off”. Put me down for your Mytells site. (I made this decision and didn’t bother to tell Facebook).
That is seriously messed up.
As if people weren’t aggravated with facebook enough.
I have also heard through the grapevine that they may start charging for a facebook account.
I noticed the boxes tab was missing when I found expressions but so far I havent had any problems with my profile showing the layout I picked but my computre is running a little slower but that might be cause its an old laptop but so far I havent really had any problems with it
Facebook has their roots planted pretty well now with that Like button spread all across the web in high traffic sites. It will be hard for another site to come in and dominate. If you piss off users and they begin dropping like flies then this is definitly a good way to do it. I hope they smarten up though. MyTells is not near as complex as Facebook but then again it serves a different purpose. I hope Facebook stays around but they need to stop shutting users out or they will regret it.
Very messed up I agree. I can’t believe they didn’t tell any of the users. They might this time around just because of the revolt that occured a few days ago. My bet is you will see a notice when you login that your boxes have been removed for a cleaner profile.. bla bla bla.
I heard that too but it is just that a rumor. They make enough money on the new credit system they launched. Charging for an account would surely kill their site. They may charge developers but I think users are safe. In fact if you go to their homepage look under the Signup headline you will see “It’s free (and always will be)” This is their attempt to clear up that rumor.
Courtney there are 2 parts to expressions we have Expressions which are like banners (these go on the Boxes tab) then there are fullpage layouts which will work regardless of the boxes tab being removed. All the Boxes tab is , is a place where application content goes. If you don’t have you you have not yet added one nor any apps that would use it. Hope that clears things up.

Wow did they give you any warning through email?
yea my Facebook account was recently permanently disabled a few days back but the small amount of photos I had on it r on my computer and I got almost all my friends back. it has been acting retarded lately.
created another profile which wasnt too hard actually and I didnt really have a ton of applications maybe one or 2 that I sorta used at times. and I was trying to get my fan page for one of my sports teams on the left hand panel of my profile which it was on my previous account. I was able to create a tab but like I said I rarely visited the app(s). thanks Courtney for the video update.

So wat is it that is really messed up i tried to get on through mobile and it said my pro had been suspended…then i get on through my laptop and fb asks for so many stuff…this sux
